Privacy Policy for Kortex

Kortex ("the app") is developed by Ssoad ("we," "us"). This policy explains what data Kortex handles and how.

Summary

By default, Kortex stores your financial data — transactions, accounts, budgets, and categories — locally on your device only. For users who subscribe to Premium features and register an account, we use secure cloud databases to sync your data across your devices and shared Spaces.

Data we store and process

• On-Device Storage (Default): All financial records (transactions, accounts, budgets, and preferences) reside securely in a local database on your device.
• Premium Cloud Sync (Opt-In): If you create a Kortex account to sync your data or collaborate in shared Spaces, your encrypted transaction data and account profiles are synced to our secure Firebase backend. We do not sell or share this data.

Optional AI feature: Smart Budgeting

Kortex includes an opt-in "Smart Budgeting (AI)" feature. If enabled, a summary of your spending (category names and amounts — no personal or account identifiers) is sent to a third-party AI inference provider (currently Hugging Face) to generate budgeting insights. This data is sent only when you request an analysis.

Data deletion

Uninstalling the app deletes all local Kortex data. Premium users can request account and cloud data deletion directly by contacting us.

Changes to this policy

If we add features that change how data is handled (for example, cloud sync), we will update this policy and the in-app version number accordingly.
